Amsterdam health club Fitness First has put scales in bus shelter benches in an attempt to drum up business by reminding commuters that they are fat and lazy.
The digital readout displays the weight of anyone sitting on the bench while a chart directly behind the sitter includes information that can be used to interpret the data in terms of physical fitness. Public ridicule is a powerful motivator—but I highly doubt that anyone with a shred of vanity would actually sit on the bench. At the very least it would be a good excuse to walk to work for a change. [Advertido via The Design Blog]
