As much as I like Firefox, I tend to keep coming home to Safari. Because of this, I was pleased to stumble across’a new extension called Safari140 to the browser. Written by David Watanabe, Safari140 lets you send’your current page‘directly to Twitter, complete with a little input dialog box and automatic URL shortening.
Safari140 is an input manager, the same kind of software extension as other popular extensions, like’1Password. Input Managers allow third-party apps to inject functionality into Safari. They are one of the more controversial ways to add features, by providing executable code that attaches to an application. At the same time, input managers can offer great utility and enhancements, so caveat hackteur: do your homework and use them at your own risk.
